Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Health Plan Strategist, Principal to lead the design and execution of integrated health plan strategies. You will provide decision support to executive leaders, leverage data-driven insights, and manage enterprise programs to advance strategic initiatives across the organization.

This change-agent role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; 4+ years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree; graduate degree strongly preferred.
• Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in healthcare industry environment, health plan/insurance or healthcare provider.
• Experience leading enterprise-level programs, strategic planning processes, or cross-functional initiatives in highly matrixed organizations.
• Demonstrates strong strategic thinking; translates insights into actionable strategies.
• Core consulting capabilities: client management, workshop facilitation, structured problem-solving, data analysis, process design, and change management.
• Clear and persuasive communication for diverse audiences, both verbal and written.
• Ability to influence and gain buy-in from leaders and peers; navigate complex organizations.
