Job description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, clinical, financial, and technological risks. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities include leading small to large-scale projects and assisting other project managers on complex interdepartmental projects related to organizational operational functions affecting team members and providers.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Information Systems database analysis, applying this knowledge to develop, implement, and improve action plans by providing advice and guidance on information and best practices. Skills in project management methodology and database design are preferred.
  • Identifies, creates, and facilitates process design changes by conducting complex business and systems process analysis and design. Focuses on quality improvement and data management, ensuring data reliability and validity. Develops process improvements or re-engineers and recommends elimination. Integrates new systems and processes with existing ones. Partners with internal/external customers to ensure systems meet long-term business strategies.
  • Provides project-level analysis, producing documentation such as business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, and UAT plans.
  • Collaborates with developers to implement requirements, providing guidance during quality assurance and UAT processes.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Four (4) years of business analysis and/or business systems analysis project coordination experience required. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects and handling operational requests from the business required.
  • Advanced experience and/or training in SQL and Microsoft Excel required.
  • Health Plan or health system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Utilization Management processes and workflows strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Effective communication skills for group presentations, discussing issues tactfully, and understanding concepts, rules, and procedures. Ability to work with all organizational levels, facilitate communication, and document activities effectively.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and implement solutions.
