Job summary

Building Services 32BJ Benefit Funds seeks a Manager, Health Operations in New York, NY to lead health benefit operations and service delivery for 200,000+ plan participants. You will oversee plan design, vendor relationships, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective benefits.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, drive process improvements, and leverage claims data to enhance member experience and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in business process re‑engineering, requirements definition, process analysis and design
• 3+ years experience in health benefits administration from provider/payer perspective
• Experience leading projects or workgroups in health benefits or health plan environments
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or training staff

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to Health Fund staff and stakeholders; supervise workflow and best practices
• Lead cross‑functional workgroups with Health Services, Member Services, Eligibility, Compliance, Finance, IT and external vendors
• Prepare recurring operational reports and executive summaries with performance trends and action plans
• Lead plan design reviews, benefits knowledge sharing, and changes to plan documents
• Manage vendor relationships, monitor performance guarantees and SLAs
• Develop and maintain Health Fund portal/CRM content and workflows
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and vendor configurations against plan provisions
• Identify issues/risks and drive corrective actions for improved member experience
