Job summary

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is seeking a Software Systems Designer & Developer to join the Applications & Development Team. You will design, develop, implement and support software solutions and system integrations that underpin healthcare delivery across the region.

You’ll work on clinicians’, managers’ and suppliers’ systems, handling a diverse portfolio from patient-facing apps to integration platforms, supporting digital transformation and improved patient care.

Qualifications

Experience of software design, development and implementation.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Database administration experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement software solutions and system integrations.
Support ongoing digital transformation of NHS services and delivery of healthcare solutions.
Collaborate with clinicians, managers, suppliers and national NHS teams.
Contribute to system integration, interfaces and data exchange (HL7).
Lead project delivery and ensure reliable, secure solutions.
