Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Health Information Technician to process and fulfill PHI requests in compliance with regulations. The role supports providers with documentation questions and basic chart corrections, while managing scanned records to uphold quality and productivity standards.

Education includes a high school diploma with medical terminology; RHIT/RHIA is preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential in a collaborative Mercy HIM team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with medical terminology knowledge.
• 1 year of experience in HIM/medical records or related field.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and fulfill requests for PHI in compliance with regulations.
• Answer provider questions regarding documentation and basic chart corrections.
