Overview:

Assists with the administration of medical records.

1. Assure medical records (paper & electronic) are received, processed and scanned in a timely and accurate manner to support patient care, and the revenue management cycle.
2. Performs a variety of technical and clerical functions in the HIM department in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Competencies:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starting, independent individual.
  • Highly motivated and organized problem solver.
• Experience:
  • Basic analytical skills preferred.
  • Basic problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Medical technology preferred; 1 year in an acute care medical records department or customer service role/industry preferred.
