Job summary

CorrectHealth is seeking a Health Information Technician (HIT) to support the Medical department in Houma, Louisiana. This full-time role focuses on maintaining medical records, ensuring accuracy, and applying company policies.

The HIT will work under the supervision of the Health Information leadership, coordinating with clinical and administrative staff to keep information secure and accessible for patient care and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills and reading comprehension.
• Strong knowledge of medical record procedures, medical terminology, and computers.
• HIM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Health Information Technician (HIT) is responsible for clerical functions related to the support and management of the Medical department and maintaining medical records in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
• Hit is under the supervision of the HSA / HSC with additional reporting responsibilities to the Corporate Director of Health Information Management or designee.
• Must maintain a professional attitude at all times.
