Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Health Information Management Technician to support chart processing, release of information, and record retrieval. The role requires attention to regulatory standards and confidentiality while coordinating with physicians and staff.

The position involves data entry, on-call responsibilities, and collaboration with the medical team to ensure timely and accurate documentation for compliance and patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in release of information practices preferred.

Responsabilités

• Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensures deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.
• Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.
• Answers telephone calls and assists visitors while maintaining confidentiality.
• Retrieves, logs, and prints medical records as requested by physicians, patients, hospitals and other entities.
• Notifies Director of any outstanding records, issues with equipment, processes or other concerns.
• Participates in on-call rotation for retrieval of records and related tasks.
• Assists with other HIM daily functions.
• Works closely with physicians to ensure they are set up to dictate into the system.
• Trains physicians/APRNs to dictate and e-sign dictation and orders.
• Ensures completion of records for Joint Commission standards.
• Works the hold queue for the dictation system and updates late dictations.
• Performs data entry for still births.
