Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Health Information Specialist I to manage patient health information requests in a HIPAA-compliant manner. The role runs Monday through Friday, with day shifts and responsibilities spanning chart preparation, record retrieval and secure transmission.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and strong English communication. Some travel between locations and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to commute between locations as needed.
• Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Professional verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts within 8:00 AM-5:30 PM EST.
• Process billing records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Receive and process requests for patient health information.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information.
• Maintain working knowledge of company software.
• Respond to requests for patient records from internal and external sources.
