Community Support Services in Akron, OH is seeking a Health Information Assistant to maintain electronic health records and ensure privacy compliance. You will handle information requests, respond to callers, and support patient care by managing submissions and document retrieval efficiently.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with data entry and computers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background and/or courses in secretarial support or business, keyboarding, bookkeeping, or office procedures.
• Previous experience in a medical records department or office/customer service.
• Ability to type 45 words per minute and proficient data entry.

Responsabilités

• Maintain confidentiality of patients' information and rights.
• Answer phone calls professionally and direct or resolve inquiries.
• Keep accurate electronic records in line with regulations and company standards.
• File documents and patient records promptly and securely.
• Manage and update electronic clinical records as needed.
• Ensure compliance with medical records policies and security procedures.
• Assist in transmitting documents to physicians, patients, and requestors within 48 hours.
• Coordinate data with management and staff for efficient records processing.
