Job summary

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Health Information professional to manage the release of patient information and support compliance with applicable laws and policies.

In this role you will serve as back-up FOIA Coordinator and assist the department director as needed, ensuring accurate records handling and adherence to DHHS rules and accreditation requirements. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Possession of an associate's degree in health information or medical record technology.
• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator.
• Experience with health information management and release of information processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the release of patient information in accordance with hospital policies, DHHS rules, and accrediting requirements.
• Serve as back-up FOIA Coordinator for the department.
• Back-up in the absence of the department director.

Education
