Job summary

Mirage Post Acute in California is seeking a Med Record Assistant-Full Time to maintain resident medical records and health information systems in accordance with federal and state guidelines and facility privacy policies.

You will support the medical records department, index/file charts, retrieve records, and assist with scheduling assessments and MDS coordination, all while upholding HIPAA standards and accurate data entry.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute and use dictation equipment.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding, indexing, etc., preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and file resident charts and records in accordance with policies.
• Index medical records and transcribe/analyze medical information for health information systems.
• Retrieve resident records upon request and ensure proper sign-out procedures.
• Assist in scheduling assessments and coordinating with MDS activities as required.
