Job summary

Pullman Regional is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist to join the HIM team in Pullman, WA. The role focuses on processing medical records, scanning and indexing in the EHR, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant information release.

You will handle ROI requests, maintain data accuracy, and communicate with staff and providers to support seamless patient care. A high school diploma and at least six months in a healthcare setting are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process requests for medical records and patient information from internal and external sources in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
  • Perform scanning, indexing, and quality review of patient records in the EHR.
  • Maintain, retrieve, and archive electronic health records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient health records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in compliance with HIPAA, federal and state regulations, and organizational policies.
