Job summary

Connections Healthcare Staffing seeks a Health Information Management Director for a small rural hospital near the AZ/NM border. The DHIM will maintain medical records, process requests for release of information, analyze data, and prepare reports; the role also includes transcription duties and serving as HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer.

The position is onsite, reports to the CFO, and requires RHIA or RHIT certification, a minimum of a bachelor’s in HIM, and at least ten years of supervisory

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of supervisory/management experience in HIM.
• Minimum 3 years HIPAA Privacy and Security management experience.
• RHIA or RHIT certification is required.
• RH Privacy and Security Officer certification preferred.

Health Information Management Director / HIM

Our client, a small rural hospital located near the AZ/NM border, and about 2 ½ hrs from Albuquerque, has a need for a HIM Director to join their team. This is an ONSITE position.

Job Summary:

The Director of Health Information Management (DHIM) reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will maintain hospital medical records and process requests for release of medical information according to established policies and procedures. The DHIM will analyze information and prepare appropriate reports. The DHIM will also be required to accurately transcribe medical and departmental documents as necessary. The DHIM will serve as the HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer (CHPS). The DHIM is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ supervisory/management experience in Health Information Management is required.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ HIPAA Privacy and Security management experience required.
• AHIMA Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
• AHIMA Certification as a HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer preferred.
