Job summary

TEKsystems in Hershey, PA is seeking Health Information Management Support Specialists to provide patient-facing administrative support, assist with Release of Information, and complete assigned HIM tasks as part of a contract role onsite.

Day to day tasks include answering calls, verifying demographics, obtaining verbal authorizations, navigating EMR systems, supporting Release of Information requests, and documenting work while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Professionally answer incoming calls and assist patients and other requestors.
• Retrieve and return voicemail messages promptly.
• Verify patient identity and demographic information.
• Obtain verbal authorizations according to established procedures after training.
• Navigate electronic medical record systems to locate patient information.
• Assist with Release of Information requests and related workflows.
• Support radiology image-sharing requests
• Accurately document calls, authorizations, requests, and completed work.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Complete additional medical records, HIM, and administrative tasks as assigned.
• Support HIM operations during a major electronic medical record transition.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hershey, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
