Job summary

Montage Medical Group is seeking a Health Information Specialist (Temporary) in Monterey, CA. This clerical role supports the HIM department with data entry, scanning, and patient communications in a six month assignment with potential for permanent placement.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 3–6 months related experience, and familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes. Bilingual ability may be required; position is on-site in Ryan Ranch building A.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–6 months related experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and understanding of medical insurance processes helpful.
• Bilingual may be required; must respond courteously and be neat and professional.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics, insurance information, and medical histories into the EMR/Practice Management System.
• Answer phones quickly and courteously; maintain exceptional telephone etiquette.
• Coordinate referrals and diagnostic orders; obtain insurance authorization as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation in EMR; support care transitions.
