Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, KS is seeking an Health Information Management Clerk to handle incomplete record processing and file maintenance for legal records in paper and electronic formats.

You will verify data accuracy, index documents, operate scanning equipment, and cooperate with HIM peers, physicians, and patient care areas to ensure complete medical records and timely information requests.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Terminology preferred.
• Strong communication skills essential.
• Proficiency in English, grammar and spelling.
• Proficient in proofreading.
• Ability to follow written, oral or diagrammatic instructions.

Mansioni

• Assembles and analyzes medical records, electronic and paper, for completion and attaches a deficiency slip.
• Verifies accuracy of data for abstracts and completes KHDS abstracts and enters data into online computer.
• Operates scanning equipment and indexes documents to designated folders.
• General clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, maintaining records, processing information, utilizing fax machine, copy machine, word processing and email.
• Works with the Kansas Cancer Registry to provide required information.
• Answers requests for information following hospital policy for release of confidential information.
• Maintains patient index and patient chart.
• Compiles statistics and statistical reports.
• Compiles and completes QA reports for the department as directed.
• Cooperates with other departments as their work correlates with the health information department.
• Meets productivity and accuracy requirements consistently per HIM policy.
• Perform any of the functions of the departments as required by the director or in the absence of the director.
• Maintains confidentiality on all patient information by following MCH's HIPAA Privacy and Security policies.
• Treats all customers, including co-workers, with respect, cooperation, friendliness and service.
