The Department of Nursing at UMass Boston invites applications for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor beginning September 1, 2027. The position seeks an accomplished investigator with an externally funded program, to sustain and extend that work, provide scholarly leadership, and mentor doctoral students and early-career faculty.

Qualifications

• Earned research doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in nursing or related field.
• Eligibility for RN licensure in Massachusetts.
• Record of research, teaching, and service meriting tenure at Associate Professor or Professor level.
• Current extramural funding as principal investigator or a clear plan to secure funding.
• Experience mentoring doctoral students, postdocs, and early-career faculty.
• Teaching experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and expand an externally funded program of research as principal investigator.
• Teach and mentor students, including chairing dissertation committees.
• Mentor early-career faculty in research development and scholarly productivity.
• Provide leadership and service to the department, college, university, and profession.
• Build and sustain research collaborations with university and community partners.
