Job summary

Triple-S in Puerto Rico seeks a Health Educator to promote health and wellness through education and programs for insured populations. You will learn and follow policies, coordinate resources, and contribute ideas to improve health services.

Responsibilities include designing health promotion initiatives, producing education materials, and supporting health fairs. A Bachelor’s in Health Education and a valid health educator license are required, with 1–3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education required.
• 1–3 years of Health Educator experience preferred.
• Valid Health Educator license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement health promotion programs for insured individuals.
• Educate insured on disease prevention and health maintenance.
• Create and distribute health education materials.
• Guide agencies in assessing health education needs.
• Maintain databases and contact lists for program support.
• Support health fairs and community health events.
• Partner with community groups to promote health activities.
• Advance disease management programs with Triple-S Salud.
• Monitor and report on program effectiveness.

Job Summary

Promote changes in behavior towards maintaining optimal health through education. Requires the ability to learn and follow policies, procedures, and standards in your area, department, and related departments. Executes department’s planning efforts in its day-to-day operations, assigned projects, or to coordinate multiple resources within the department or division. Comes up with new ideas and innovative suggestions that improve processes and, or product.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement programs of promotion, prevention and maintenance for health to insured taking into consideration the evaluation of data on utilization, health conditions most prevalent and customer needs.
• Prepare and provide guidance to insured about the importance of health prevention and maintenance, disease control and health plan utilization.
• Evaluate, prepare and distribute health education materials.
• Provide guidance to agencies and organizations in the assessment of health education needs, and in the development and delivery of health education programs.
• Maintain databases, mailing lists, telephone networks, and other information to facilitate the functioning of health education programs.
• Support insured groups in coordinating health fairs and other events.
• Make alliances with agencies, companies and community groups to facilitate and develop health-related activities.
• Promote disease management programs that have available Triple-s Salud for insured. Implement educational strategies to support other projects.
• Monitors and prepare reports about the effectiveness of the Health Promotion and Education Program and their interventions.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Education

Experience

Bachelor’s Degree (BD) in Health Education. One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a Health Educator. Current/valid license in Health Education without restrictions.
