Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking Health Education teachers for the Health education classroom pool. The role involves planning and delivering health instruction, assessing student progress, and coordinating with staff to support learning across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include adapting materials for diverse learners, maintaining behavior standards, and communicating student progress with parents.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid educator license in Health or be eligible for conditional Health licensure.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Knowledge of federal laws protecting the educational services for students with disabilities is required.
• Knowledge of curriculum, methods, and equipment in the instructional specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses student abilities relative to goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Plans and implements instructional strategies and activities; uses multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
• Adapts materials and methods to meet diverse student needs within the district curriculum.
• Maintains positive behavior management procedures and monitors student behavior.
• Communicates progress to parents in written and oral form.
• Collaborates with guidance counselors, librarians, and other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• May sponsor extracurricular activities and coordinate student clubs or contests.
