Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW) invites you to join as a Health Education Intern, gaining hands-on experience promoting health and wellness among our staff and the community. This internship is designed to provide practical skills for a future career in public health while supporting the Health Education team.

You will help develop programs, create materials, plan events, conduct research, and evaluate initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's or master's in public health or related field.
• Knowledge of health promotion theories and evidence-based practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in conducting research, analyzing data, and synthesizing information.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of health education programs and campaigns.
• Conduct research on health trends and evidence-based practices.
• Create educational materials such as brochures, flyers, and online content.
• Support planning and coordination of health-related events.
• Facilitate workshops on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and mental health.
• Conduct surveys to gather data on health behaviors and needs.
• Participate in evaluation and monitoring of programs.
• Collaborate with HR, Marketing, and Community Outreach.
• Stay up-to-date with trends and share information with the team.
• Maintain program records, track participant data, and prepare reports.
