Cleveland State Community College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty Pool in Health Education. Instructors provide quality instruction, maintain a positive learning environment, and teach in a variety of formats at several locations, including online.

Duties include planning, teaching, evaluating, and communicating with students, plus administrative tasks and deadlines. Qualifications require a Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in a relevant field, and a BLS

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field or Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields including Health, Physical Education, Public Health, Wellness, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field.
• Also needs to hold BLS certification with American Heart Association in order to teach Safety Education/First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
• Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.
• Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
• Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
• Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
• Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.

Education

Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in Health, Physical Education, Public Health, Wellness, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field
