Job summary

Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks a Managing Attorney for its expanded Health and Disability Rights Unit. The role leads a team of five staff attorneys, two paralegals, and a grants coordinator to advance health, disability, and community-based services for low-income clients.

The position includes staff management, hiring, training, and overseeing case assignments, with a hybrid schedule allowing two remote days.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a legal unit or practice group.
• Ability to hire, train, supervise, mentor and evaluate staff.
• Experience overseeing grants and compliance with funders.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Legal Aid’s management team.
• Oversee the unit’s staffing, hiring, training and supervision.
• Oversee case assignments and the legal work.
• Review and respond to client grievances.
• Review timekeeping and grant compliance.
