Job Summary

Start Date: Monday, June 9th, 2025

Shift: Monday - Friday: Must be open to any shift between 10:30am – 8pm CST. It is required to work every fourth Saturday from 8:00am-4:30pm CST.

Training: Training will be a duration of 6 weeks from 8am – 4:30pm CST. Due to the structured training schedule, new hires are unable to miss any days of training.

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $21.50 or $25 including certification through NBC-HWC or CHES only.

The Health Coach is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for improving individual health and wellness of program participants and the overall health status of a client’s population. The Health Coach supports members in improving lifestyles and behaviors that are at risk of developing chronic or disease conditions, acting as a positive change agent to foster healthier behaviors and reduce risk factors. The role is supervised by an Operations Coach Manager.

Essential Job Functions

• Participate in inbound and outbound telephonic engagement and coaching calls to inform, enroll, and support members in behavior change programs.
• Coordinate services with other care team members, including nurses, pharmacists, and external vendors.
• Support operational aspects to meet customer requirements, managing schedules and caseloads as determined by business needs.
• Attend daily and monthly meetings to share updates and insights.
• Track members’ progress and program efficacy.

Specific Skills/Attributes

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to understand directions, respond to inquiries, and inspire members to change behaviors.
• Learn to coach effectively using motivational interviewing techniques.
• Flexible to work any shift, including evenings and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or 2+ years of health coaching experience as a substitute.
• 1-2 years of related experience, preferably in customer service.
• Proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Office, and telephonic communication.
• Knowledge of lifestyle topics such as smoking cessation, nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, and sleep.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and adapt to schedule changes.
• Hard-wired internet connection required.
