Job summary

HSHS Medical Group, including St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, seeks a Health Clerk to support nursing and administrative tasks in the Women and Infants department.

The role covers order entry, documentation, chart assembly, and patient-facing public relations to ensure smooth unit operations. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (preferred), knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Health Clerk facilitates patient and clerical activities, including order entry, documentation, communication, system management, chart assembly and analysis, and customer service/public relations related to patient care and unit operations.
