Job summary

BRSi is seeking a Health Recovery Support Specialist in Houston, Texas. The role involves verifying health insurance claims, obtaining claim status, and maintaining accurate information in systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and computer literate, with skills in communication and knowledge of HIPAA regulations and insurance forms like UB04 and CMS1500. Preferred qualifications include experience with client systems and familiarity with Epic. Training will be provided to ensure ongoing knowledge of reimbursement strategies.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented individual with a focus on accuracy.
• Fast typist with a minimum speed of approximately 40 words per minute.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and familiarity with UB04, CMS1500, ICD-9, and ICD-10 forms.
• Preferred knowledge of HCPCS, Diagnosis, and CPT codes.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience with client systems is advantageous.
• HB (Institutional) or PB (Professional) Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify billable health insurance.
• Obtain claim status via phone.

• Submit reconsiderations and appeals.
