Responsibilities include posting payments, reconciling remittances, and resolving denials, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in healthcare administration, accounting, business, or a related field preferred.
• One to three years of experience in medical billing or a related role preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance and Medicaid billing processes.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit claims and invoices for services, including electronic insurance claims and client statements.
• Verify client demographics, eligibility, benefits, and coverage before billing.
• Review service records for billing completeness and required supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with clinicians to resolve missing or inconsistent billing information.
• Monitor outstanding claims and follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims.
• Post insurance and client payments and reconcile with remittance information.
• Identify overpayments, duplicate payments, and incorrect balances for correction.
