Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL is seeking a Health Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff and assist with personal care and hygiene for assigned patients. Under RN supervision, you’ll help with daily living activities, communicate with departments, and maintain unit safety and supplies.

You will document data, monitor vital signs and glucose, assist with transport, and participate in the HCT training program.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• H.S. Diploma/GED required
• CNA coursework within past 24 months or CNA certification
• At least one nursing clinical experience or prior CNA work

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of unit supplies and stocking
• Collect data on patients and document accurately
• Measure vital signs and glucose when directed
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and transportation
• Complete unit HCT Safety Checklist at shift start
• Receive delegated tasks from RN and communicate progress
• Provide basic patient care such as baths, vital signs, accuchecks, meals
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to isolation and fall precautions
• Maintain positive work environment and respond promptly to call lights
