Job Overview
The Health Care Educator communicates and builds relationships with students, leveraging healthcare industry contacts and corporate/workforce relationships to promote the College to prospective nursing students. They build rapport quickly with potential students, employers, and key stakeholders, fostering a positive perception of Columbus State Education.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment
- Represents and promotes the College and recruits prospective nursing students.
- Arranges and conducts targeted recruitment activities, grows a pool of prospective students, and nurtures prospects through admission and enrollment.
- Establishes expertise in the characteristics, goals, media habits, and locations of prospective students to attract quality applicants.
- Maintains regular contact with future students and performs follow‑up communication to ensure progression through the application/enrollment process.
- Collaborates with admissions office team members and other college departments to facilitate enrollment.
- Program Support
- Provides admissions and enrollment process information and assists with the application process.
- Provides information on programs of study, campus services, student life, and opportunities for campus involvement.
- Assists individuals and groups of prospective students via in‑person, phone, email, and other electronic/social media tools.
- Explains educational program options and transfer opportunities and assists students with developing plans of action and setting expectations.
- Assists with on‑campus visits, campus tours, special event programming, and other internal and external recruitment activities.
- Provides outreach and follow‑up support via written and phone communication.
- Tracks all activities, evaluates effectiveness, and recommends outreach changes and improvements.
- Building Relationships
- Works with department faculty and staff to facilitate a deep understanding of the College’s programs and associated academic, co‑curricular, and career‑development opportunities.
- Establishes enduring relationships with executives, managers, community leaders, and other personnel to facilitate enrollment of the adult population.
- Establishes relationships with area companies and professionals in adult recruitment to identify and yield prospective students.
- Administrative
- Audits and tracks competitor activity to articulate the College’s unique offer and advantages realized by recent graduates.
- Provides recommendations/briefings to inform marketing efforts designed to differentiate College programs.
- Maintains accurate records and completes required documentation, including input of contacts into CRM, outreach activity statistics, and reports.
- Culture of Respect
- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and community members.
- Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Attends required department meetings and training.
- Other duties as required.
- Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
Qualifications
- Active unencumbered Nursing License (LPN or RN).
- Minimum one year of nursing experience.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work sites.
- Combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
