Job summary

About the Position

The Health Care Compliance Analyst is an integral position within the Department of Health Services that directly supports the promotion of a culture of honest and responsible behavior in compliance with department protocols, policies, and professional standards. This position works closely with management in all of the Health Services divisions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, grants, and contracts. Other responsibilities include:

• Researching, interpreting, and implementing federal, state, and local health regulations and mandates
• Conducting compliance audits and investigations to follow up on alleged misconduct
• Supporting the administration of the compliance and ethics program, and participating as a member of the Compliance Program Governance Oversight Committee
• Tracking reported compliance issues and inquiries and assisting with compliance program risk assessments
• Developing health care compliance policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, and providing related training and education to staff

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have exceptional analytical skills and possess many of the following:

• Experience related to health care compliance and an understanding of the seven nationally recognized elements of an effective compliance program
• A Health Care Compliance or a Healthcare Privacy Compliance certificate is strongly desired
• The ability to research, interpret, and implement federal, state, and local regulatory mandates across the department divisions
• A demonstration of integrity, sound judgment, and trustworthiness
• Excellent communication skills, including advanced skills in writing and public speaking
• Skilled in managing and prioritizing multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and meeting related deadlines
• A proven ability to be adaptable and self-directed, while researching and analyzing issues

Please note that this position is expected to be on-site, in-office work for the first 6 to 12 months. After this initial period, the department will evaluate hybrid telework eligibility and may consider it based on assignment needs, department operations, and performance.

Experience

Any combination of training and experience that will provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, three years of experience in an acute care hospital or other equally responsible health profession experience including some training or experience in performing patient's rights advocacy, utilization review or quality assurance or infection control or experience analyzing health care or nursing systems and programs could provide this opportunity.
