Huntsville Hospital Health System seeks a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to support the nursing unit under physician and staff supervision. You will perform technical patient care, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, and help with discharge processes.

In this role you will also handle clerical duties such as answering calls, updating patient charges, maintaining charts and unit files, and ensuring a safe, orderly environment for patients and staff.

Qualifikationen

• Education: HS/GED required.
• Education preferred: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Huntsville Hospital Health Care Assistant course preferred
• License, Certification and/or Registration: BCLS is required by the conclusion of orientation.
• Experience: Requires previous patient care and/or two years clerical expereience with successful work history.
• Additional skills/abilities: Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Aufgaben

• Patient Care activities include vital signs, activities of daily living, transport, and transfer of patients to include discharge.
• Clerical support includes directing incoming calls and responding to patient calls, entering patient charges in the computer system, maintaining patient charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels and being responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
