Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to support the nursing unit under the direction of physicians and clinical staff. You will provide essential patient care, including vital signs and ADLs, assist with transport and discharge, and perform clerical duties such as managing calls and patient charts.

The role requires HS/GED, BCLS by orientation, and prior patient care or clerical experience. Preferred CNA coursework. Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.

Competenze

• Education: HS/GED required.
• License: BCLS required by orientation.
• Experience: previous patient care and/or two years clerical experience.
• Education preferred: CNA course preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide technical patient care services including vital signs and activities of daily living.
• Transport patients and assist with discharge as needed.
• Assist staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments with routine patient care activities.
• Provide clerical support: direct incoming calls, respond to patient calls, enter patient charges, maintain charts and unit files.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the nursing unit.
