Job summary

Monticello Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Health Aide to support school health services under the Licensed School Nurse. The role covers health care services, medication administration and maintaining health records across the district facilities.

The position requires active LPN/RN licensure in Minnesota, current CPR and First Aid certifications, and strong communication with students, families and staff. The district offers a structured school health program and supportive teamwork.

Qualifications

• License as LPN or RN from Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification for Healthcare Professional and current First Aid certification.
• Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and respond calmly during crisis situations.
• Coordinate services and supports with internal and outside providers.
• Experience providing complex medical cares to students in the school environment (suctioning, trach care, tube feeding) - training may be provided.
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Licensed School Nurse, responsible for health care services, medication administration, and maintenance of health records within the building(s) of assignment and in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Education & Qualifications Requirements

• License as a Licensed Practical Nurse OR Registered Nurse from Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification for the Healthcare Professional and current First Aid certification.
• Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary.
• Coordinate services and supports with internal and outside providers.
• Experience/comfort with providing complex medical cares to students in the school environment (suctioning, trach care, tube feeding, etc) -will train if needed
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred

Hourly Substitute Rate: $21.73/hr ($19.75/hr + 10% differential)
