Job summary

Monticello Public Schools is seeking a Health Aide (Temporary) to support student health services. Under the direction of the Licensed School Nurse, you will administer medications, provide care during the school day, and maintain health records.

Position is 7 hours/day, 5 days/week, from 10/26/2026 to 01/15/2027. Minnesota nursing license, CPR, and First Aid certifications are required. Experience with diverse students and CLR methods is preferred.

• Licensed nurse (LPN or RN) with Minnesota license.
• CPR and First Aid certifications current.
• Experience delivering complex medical care in a school setting.

Health Aide (Temporary)

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Licensed School Nurse, responsible for health care services, medication administration, and maintenance of health records within the building(s) of assignment and in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Education & Qualifications Requirements

• License as a Licensed Practical Nurse OR Registered Nurse from Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification for the Healthcare Professional and current First Aid certification.

Essential Skills

• Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and respond calmly during crisis situations, when necessary.
• Coordinate services and supports with internal and outside providers.
• Experience/comfort with providing complex medical cares to students in the school environment (suctioning, trach care, tube feeding, etc) -will train if needed
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred

Hourly Substitute Rate: $21.73/hr ($19.75/hr + 10% differential)
