Job summary

Vernon Public Schools is seeking a Health Aide to support school health services. The role is a 10-month, non-affiliated position providing first aid and health monitoring for students under the direction of the school nurse.

Location is TBD within the Vernon Public Schools district; applicants must hold proper Health Aide certification and provide required materials for the application process. Salary is hourly with benefits and PTO included.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold proper Health Aide certification.
• Experience in health aide or nursing support preferred.
• Ability to provide basic first aid and monitor student health needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic first aid to students under supervision.
• Monitor illnesses and report to the school nurse.
• Maintain health records for students and staff.
• Communicate health needs to staff and families.

Position: Health Aide

Description: The Administration is seeking a person qualified by education and experience to carry out the duties assigned to the position and, in general, to establish and maintain a high level of standards of excellence in the Vernon Public Schools. Under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and the School Principal, the Health Aide supports the daily health and well-being of school-aged students by providing basic first aid and monitoring illnessesunder the direction of the school nurse. This role also maintains health records and communicates with staff and families about student health needs. Please see the attached job description for essential functions.
