Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics; MBA and/or professional certification/s preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years professional experience in a state insurance department, health insurance company, financial services or consulting firm.
• Prior consulting and/or regulatory experience is preferred.
• ASA, FSA, MAAA designations strongly preferred.
• Experience with ACA and ACA pricing preferred.
• Experience with Medicare Supplement products preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex information, identify inconsistencies, and produce accurate, high-quality work products.
• Knowledge of actuarial concepts including: health rating, underwriting, financial modeling and analysis, risk management, pricing, and reinsurance.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a proactive desire to learn, adapt, and develop expertise in new actuarial, regulatory, and industry topics.
• PC skills, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning (Visual Basic, MS Excel, R, Python)

Responsibilities

• Serve as health actuarial consultant on client engagements including; potential work on financial exams, rate filing reviews, special studies and research projects, adhere to project budget and timelines.
• Communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver accurate analyses and recommendations.
