Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Health Actuary - Analyst III in our New York office. The role focuses on health benefits strategy projects, including financial projections, plan design optimization, carrier selection, and renewal negotiations for employer clients.

You will create client deliverables, guide junior analysts, and present findings to clients in partnership with senior team members, contributing to Mercer’s leadership in actuarial consulting.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in actuarial consulting, insurance, or finance
• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, finance, economics or related field
• Two or more actuarial exams passed preferred
• Excellent analytical skills and experience in data analysis or financial modeling
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven project management skills and creative problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• The Health & Benefits actuarial consulting analyst is responsible for managing client projects focusing on employers' health benefits strategies, including financial projections, plan design optimization, carrier selection, employee contribution setting, IBNP valuations, benchmarking, wellness initiatives, and renewal negotiations.
• Will create client deliverables, provide direction to junior analysts, serve as a financial client contact, and present deliverables to clients in partnership with senior members of client teams
