Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Health Actuary - Analyst III located on the East Coast. This role focuses on managing health benefits client projects—projections, plan design, and renewals—and delivering client-ready analyses with senior team guidance.

The position requires 2–5 years in relevant roles, a BA/BS in actuarial science or related field, and actuarial exams. Hybrid work is available with a strong emphasis on collaboration and client impact.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in consulting, insurance, finance, human resources or accounting
• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, finance, economics or related field
• Two or more actuarial exams passed preferred
• Excellent analytical skills – experience in data analysis or financial modeling
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven project management skills and creative problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• The Health & Benefits actuarial consulting analyst is responsible for managing client projects that focus on employers’ health benefits strategies, including financial projections, carrier selection, plan design optimization, employee contribution setting, IBNP valuations, benchmarking, well-being initiatives, and renewal negotiations
• The actuarial consulting analyst will create client deliverables, provide direction to junior analysts, serve as a financial client contact, and present deliverables to clients in partnership with senior members of client teams
