  • Oversee day-to-day Healing Hub operations to keep the space safe, welcoming, organized and community-centered.

  • Manage Hub calendar, room usage, and programming schedule for community access.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, and resources; identify facility needs and address them promptly.
  • Coordinate staff, interns, volunteers, and program staff; ensure coverage during events.

With a goal to combat trauma, we use healing centered engagement to share our greatest vulnerabilities with the rest of the world while simultaneously working to dismantle oppressive systems for marginalized Detroit youth.

Position Overview

The DHD Hub Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic improvements of the Healing Hub property. This role ensures the Hub remains a safe, functional, and accessible space for community programs while supporting the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing facility operations, vendor relationships, and community engagement.

Skills and Experience
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure the property is maintained at a high standard, addressing small issues before they become larger problems.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly respond to facility issues, identifying practical solutions and coordinating responses.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, board, external vendors, and community members.
  • Project Management:Manage multiple projects, from routine maintenance to major renovations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Organization: Keep track of budgets, maintenance schedules, vendor contracts, and facility needs with strong organizational methods.
Key Responsibilities
Healing Hub Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Healing Hub and ensure the space is safe, welcoming, organized, and community-centered.
  • Maintain consistent opening, closing, cleanliness, safety, and facility procedures.
  • Manage the Hub calendar, room usage, programming schedule, and community access.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, food, hygiene products, and other Hub resources.
  • Identify facility needs and communicate maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Programs & Community Services
  • Coordinate and oversee Healing Hub programs, events, workshops, and community activities.
  • Ensure programs align with the organization's mission and healing-centered approach.
  • Support services such as the Freestore, community fridge, showers, laundry, community events, and other resource programs.
  • Help develop new programming based on community needs and participant feedback.
  • Maintain strong relationships with youth, families, residents, and community members.
  • Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to Healing Hub staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during operating hours and events.
  • Delegate responsibilities and follow up to ensure tasks are completed.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability when performance expectations are not met.
  • Help onboard and train new staff and volunteers.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Build relationships with neighborhood organizations, businesses, schools, service providers, and community partners.
  • Coordinate vendors, facilitators, volunteers, and partners participating in Hub programming.
  • Represent the Healing Hub at community meetings and events when appropriate.
  • Create opportunities for community members to provide feedback and help shape Hub programming.
Administration & Accountability
  • Maintain accurate attendance, program participation, volunteer, donation, and service records.
  • Collect data needed for grants, reports, evaluation, and organizational planning.
  • Submit regular updates on programs, operations, challenges, accomplishments, and upcoming needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate documentation related to participants and organizational activities.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, budgets, and purchasing guidelines.
Events & Special Projects
  • Lead the planning and execution of Healing Hub events and community activations.
  • Develop event timelines, staffing plans, supply lists, and setup/cleanup plans.
  • Coordinate logistics with vendors, partners, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ensure events are executed professionally and reflect the organization's values.
  • Serve as the primary on-site leader and take ownership of the Hub's daily success.
  • Model professionalism, reliability, communication, and accountability.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to conflicts, emergencies, and unexpected situations.
  • Proactively identify problems and bring forward solutions.
  • Maintain clear communication with executive leadership regarding significant incidents, staffing issues, community concerns, and operational needs.
