Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking Welders for Level IV roles in Beasley, TX, with day and night shifts. Starting rate for Level IV is $35/hour for 15+ years of welding experience passing 6G TIG and 2G Stick tests; others are considered based on experience and test results.

Responsibilities include joining, fabricating, and repairing metal, reading blueprints, inspecting welds, and possibly leading others. PPE required; physical work includes lifting up to 50 lbs and outdoor/indoor environments.

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship and/or formal welding training preferred.
  • Ability to pass 6G TIG and 2G Stick tests.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret blueprints.
  • Willing to work day or night shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Weld, fabricate, and repair metal components.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to select welding processes.
  • Inspect welds for structural soundness.
  • May lead and direct others.

Level IV Welders: Candidates with a minimum of 15 years of relevant welding experience who successfully pass the 6G TIG and 2G Stick tests may be eligible for a starting rate of $35/hour.

Candidates with fewer than 15 years of experience will be considered for other welder levels, with starting pay based on experience, weld test results, and other job-related qualifications.

What Will You Do?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques

Interprets blueprints, specifications,diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process

Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness

Performs a variety ofcomplicatedtasks

May lead and direct the work of others

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to work inside and outside. Regular exposure to welding debris, heat, cold, dark and bright environments.

REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WHILE IN THE SHOPS

Your Experience Should Be...

Skills Required (i.e. certifications, licenses, registrations, etc.):

May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty

REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

Ability to pass 6G Tig and 2G Stick test

Knowledge of a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures

Ability to rely onexperience and judgmentto plan and accomplish goals

Ability to work different shifts

Ability to lay-out, burn holes, fit and weld nozzles

Ability to read drawings

Ability to lift
