Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Munith, Michigan seeks a Header Operator to set up and run cold formers, inspecting parts to exact specifications. You’ll load materials, adjust tooling, verify settings, and document quality data, collaborating with a skilled team to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cold forming equipment.
• Ability to read part drawings and specifications.
• Document quality data and production records.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cold former (header) to manufacture parts to precise specifications.
• Measure and inspect parts during production using micrometers, calipers, gauges.
• Load material, adjust tooling, and verify machine settings per production orders.
• Monitor operation, troubleshoot malfunctions and perform minor maintenance.
• Read tool layouts, part prints, and progression layouts for correct setups.
• Collaborate with team on machine setups and tooling changes.
