Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration seeks a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist with Headache Medicine expertise to become Director of the Headache Center of Excellence (HCoE) within the VA Maryland Health Care System. The role oversees clinical operations, education, quality improvement, research engagement, and multidisciplinary team development across VAMHCS and VISN 5.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in neurology with subspecialty expertise in Headache Medicine.
• Experience guiding clinical operations, education, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong track record in program leadership and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert evaluation and management of complex headache disorders using face-to-face and telehealth care.
• Lead the Headache Center of Excellence operations, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Mentor residents, fellows, and interdisciplinary staff; lead continuing education.
• Oversee staffing, referrals, scheduling, and budget priorities; collaborate with service leadership.
