Grace Adventures in Michigan seeks seasonal staff to fulfill ministry at summer camps, providing physical, emotional, and spiritual care for campers through horsemanship and camp activities. You will lead trail rides, pony rides, and wagon rides, supervise barn operations, ensure safety, and work with Paradise Ranch instructors to deliver curriculum.

Housing and meals are provided. The role requires a personal faith in Jesus, love for kids, strong teamwork, and the ability to endure long hours

Qualifications

• Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Knowledge of and love for God's Word.
• Ability to lead peers with a team-based mindset.
• Experience in teaching kids.
• Good health and stamina for long weeks and varying weather.
• Minimum age 18 (21+ preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Familiar with CHA standards for group riding.
• Ability to teach Paradise Ranch riding levels.
• Should be an experienced rider (CHA level 3+).
• Ability to manage kids and horses safely.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps. To provide the physical, emotional, and spiritual care for campers assigned to you.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and model a vital personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Support and equip Riding Instructors in delivering safe, fun and educational horsemanship experiences in line with Paradise Ranch curriculum
• Lead and implement all trail riding, pony ride, and wagon ride activities
• Lead and support Ranch staff/Wranglers in delivering daily barn management of herd, equipment and facilities.
• Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
• Oversee and implement behavior management with campers and staff including nighttime rounds
• Speak at campfires (chapel)
• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and implement Horsemanship riding classes, Trail ride experiences, and Community Worship programs with excellence
• Complete the course of study during orientation and follow all camp policies
• Become familiar with the camp staff, facilities and grounds
• Keep spiritually and physically prepared to minister
• Supervise, equip,encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other ranch staff as part of the summer leadership teamLead or attend all ranch camp activities, meals, and staff meetings.
• Fill out all paperwork and turn it in before you are dismissed at the end of the week
• Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bunkhouses, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Knowledge of and love for God's Word
• Love for kids and adults and ability to communicate with themAbility to lead peers with a team-based mindset
• Experience in teaching kids
• Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours, sleeping in bunkhouses with campers and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
• Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be familiar with and adhere to CHA standards for group riding programs.
• Must demonstrate ability to teach his or her assigned Paradise Ranch riding level(s).
• Should be an experienced rider (equivalent to CHA level 3).
• Must be able to handle both kids and horses in a safe, fun, and educational way.
