Job summary

King William County Public Schools is seeking a Head Varsity Softball Coach at King William High School in Virginia. The role involves building and directing the varsity softball program, adhering to VHSL policies, and coordinating with the athletic director and assistant coach on scheduling, evaluation, and budget.

You will manage training, facilities, inventory, and participate in events like parent nights and awards ceremonies while ensuring compliance and a positive student-athlete

Qualifications

Knowledge of the sport's rules, strategies, and techniques.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualified to teach in Virginia; current license preferred.
High school coaching experience in the sport is highly recommended.
Background check (fingerprinting) will be conducted.

Responsibilities

Instruct players in rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques.
Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.
Develop program with assistants to support student-athlete success.
Determine game strategy with assistants and supervise practices.
Manage equipment room and inventory; assist in budget and scheduling.
