Job summary

The Hebrew Educational Society in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Head Swim Team Coach to lead all levels of swimming in the USA program, design training plans, and oversee seasonal progression with clear individual goals for each swimmer.

You will attend daily practices and USA meets, supervise swimmers, and provide instruction and feedback on technique while maintaining open communication with parents and members. A strong safety focus and ability to create an inviting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.
• USA Swimming Coaching Certification required.
• Must have training in Concussions, Athlete Protection, Training for Athletes, Foundations of Coaching.
• 1–3 years of club, high school or college swim coaching experience.
• At least a high school diploma; basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all levels of swimming in the USA program.

• Prompt attendance at all scheduled workouts and swim meets, including weekends.
• Assist in setting training schedules, practice groups, and athlete placement within groups.
• Facilitate individual age-appropriate goal setting with all swimmers.
• Attend daily practice and USA meets; supervise swimmers in pool area at all times.
• Provide instruction and feedback on training and technique; communicate with parents and swimmers.
• Greet, acknowledge and interact with members; create a safe, educational, inviting experience for all participants.

Minimum Qualifications:
