Job summary

Hebrew Educational Society in Brooklyn, NY seeks Head Swim Team Coach to lead USA swimming program across levels and design training plans. Responsibilities include ensuring attendance at workouts and meets, supervising swimmers, and providing instructional feedback on technique.

The role requires lifeguard and USA Swimming coaching certifications, plus experience and training in athlete protection, concussion awareness, and coaching foundations.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.
• USA Swimming Coaching Certification required.
• Must have training in Concussions, Athlete Protection, Training for Athletes, Foundations of Coaching.
• 1-3 years of club, high school or college swim coaching experience.
• At least a high school diploma.
• Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all levels of swimming in the USA program.
• Design and oversee training plans for all training groups.
• Oversee seasonal progression of athletes, set goals with swimmers and monitor development with individual swimmers.
• Prompt attendance at all scheduled workouts and swim meets to include weekends.
• Assist in setting training schedules, practice groups, and athlete placement within groups.
• Facilitate individual age-appropriate goal setting process with all swimmers.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Attend Daily Practice
• Attend USA Meets
• Supervise Swimmers in pool area at all times
• Give instruction and feedback on training and technique
• Communicate with parents and swimmers including meet information, results, feedback
• Greet, acknowledge and interact with members at all times
• Create an educational, safe and inviting experience for all participants
• Provide a safe, clean and organized pool area
