Job summary

Pierce College District is seeking a part-time District Athletics statistician to operate live in-game statistics for volleyball and basketball at the Fort Steilacoom campus. The role supports home games during fall and winter seasons and uses the Presto Stats system to ensure accurate roster and stat reporting.

  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of statistics and communicate with game officials.

Position Summary

The starting salary range for this position is $21.48 to $25.32 per hour, with most candidates starting at $21.48 per hour. This is a part-time (approximately 10 hours per week), cyclic (8 months), classified, overtime-eligible position with the Pierce College District. The main work location is the Fort Steilacoom campus and standard work hours will be evenings and weekends but will vary based on home athletic contest schedule for volleyball and basketball seasons (August 1st through March 31st).

This position is a member of the District Athletics event staff. The Head Statistician is responsible for compiling live, in-game statistics at all home volleyball and basketball games during the Fall and Winter sports seasons. This position utilizes the current web-based statistics software program required by the Northwest Athletic Conference. This position is considered a member of the official game crew.

Essential Functions
  • This position’s sole responsibility is to operate the live, in-game statistics program for volleyball and basketball (current NWAC conference-wide program is Presto Stats). Confirm and make corrections to team rosters for active participants prior to each contest. Provide between-set, by-quarter, halftime, and end-of-game statistics to coaches and event staff. Make corrections to statistics as needed. Confirm that completed game statistics successfully upload to the Presto website.
  • Participate in annual goal-setting and performance review process (PDP). Attend all college employee development and recognition events.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a computer software or web-based statistics program in live, in-game operations at the high school level, or above.

Terms of Employment

This is a part-time (approximately 10 hours per week) classified-cyclic, 8 months, overtime-eligible position with Pierce College District. The main work location is the Fort Steilacoom campus and standard work hours will be evenings and weekends but will vary based on home athletic contest schedule for volleyball and basketball seasons (August 1st through March 31st). This position requires regular and consistent attendance. This position is not eligible for telework. This position reports directly to the Director for District Athletics.

Salary & Benefits

The starting hourly range for this position is $21.48 to $25.32 per hour with annual increments up to $25.96 per hour. The salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and related experience. Most candidates will start at $25.96 per hour. Physical Work Environment

This position is required to work indoors in an open office environment, which requires visual concentration on detail, dexterity, precision, and is subject to frequent noise and interruptions.
