Job summary

Pierce College District is recruiting part-time adjunct instructors for Joint Base Lewis McChord, at the Stone and McChord Education Centers. Openings cover Natural and Physical Sciences, Math, and Humanities with in-person rates per credit and online rates per student per credit.

Face-to-face rate is $1,190.98 per credit; online rate is $59.54 per student per credit. Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s degree as described and be able to teach assigned courses, promote student success, and

Job description

The education programs at Joint Base Lewis McChord are specifically designed to serve the needs of active-duty military personnel, their family members, VA benefit recipients, and civilians in the community. Accelerated terms, arranged courses, hybrid and online courses with two entry points per term meet specific needs of our non-traditional students.

Applications are now being accepted to create a pool of qualified applicants for anticipated part-time teaching positions at Joint Base Lewis McChord at the Stone and McChord Education Centers. We are currently seeking the following specializations:

Natural and Physical Sciences
  • Astronomy
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Anatomy & Physiology
Math
  • Calculus
  • Statistics
  • Math for Elementary Teachers I and II
Humanities
  • Arabic
  • Spanish
  • Russian

Face to face rate, also called grounded rate, is $1,190.98 per credit (ie. $5,954.90 per five-credit lecture class) with 15 or more students. Online rate of pay is $59.54 per student per credit.

  • Work effectively with colleagues and students of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in the specialized discipline.

OR

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution within any discipline that includes 15 semester credits in the specific discipline that you are teaching in.
