Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking Head Start Teachers to support our Head Start/Early Head Start program.

You will plan and conduct classroom activities, provide individual developmental experiences, and supervise Teacher Assistants and parent volunteers while promoting parent involvement. Qualified candidates should hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education and have at least three years of preschool teaching experience, plus First

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in Early Childhood education.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to child abuse, neglect, and childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to communicate ideas and instructions orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and direct classroom activities.
• Ability to work with staff, children and parents.
• Minimum of an associate or bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education, equivalent coursework.
• At least three years teaching preschool aged children.
• Must obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification and Safe Food Handlers certificate and updates.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Health exam, TB screen, Hepatitis A vaccination and background check required.

Responsibilities
