Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and AA or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with Head Start families and the general public.
• Basic computer skills and ability to lead classroom staff and volunteers.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Standards of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Provide experiences that advance intellectual and physical development in a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Implement the High Scope curriculum with active, developmentally appropriate practices.
• Conduct initial and mid-year home visits and two parent/staff conferences.
• Ensure classroom management and lesson planning/implementation.
• Recruit, train, and supervise classroom volunteers.
• Support oral health practices and model appropriate behavior.
